The stories of people having experiences with angels are usually pretty profound. Angels come from the sky, wear wings and do all sorts of otherworldly things to get your attention. But angels also arrive in other forms and sometimes they don’t even have something for us, but need something from us.
Here’s a poem I wrote about it.
Within Their Eyes
When the caller ID flashed “Universe”
the ringer played a well known verse
I couldn’t fathom why or how
but surely things were different now
I took the call and said bonjour
but wasn’t sure what I used French for
tricked again into a visit
this couldn’t really be or is it?
I followed the trail of triple sevens
boarded my flight up to the heavens
as familiar and the known escaped me
the strange new land soon embraced me
They appeared before me as angry tweakers
and friendly bus stop penny seekers
I had to look past their disguise
for the answer embedded within their eyes
I helped these angels get back their wings
have a meal and connect their strings
I met them when the time was right
and just watched as they regained their light
And then here’s the Behind the Scenes story……….
This one was written on the bus ride from downtown Montreal to the airport. It’s basically about how when you get your vibration to a certain level, the people you need to meet and the people that need to meet you all materialize right before your eyes. Sometimes the Universe tricks you into being in certain situations or tricks you into interactions to see how you’ll react. In my case, I was “tricked” by the Universe into being in Montreal(thus the mention of French). I also had a number of synchronicities involving triple 7s which led me there. The important part of the story though is the 4th verse. At one point, I was lining up a photo of a park where there were rectangular bricks with grass between them(at the top of this story). I wasn’t really paying attention to anything except for that. I snapped my photo and walked away. A few moments later, the “angry tweaker” confronted me saying something in French. A tweaker is what they call someone on crystal meth in the Pacific Northwest. I don’t know if he was a tweaker, but he looked to be on something. I had no idea what he was saying and gave a terrible “no Francais” to him in which case he then switched to English, pointed at my camera and said, “what are you taking pictures of” in a fairly aggressive manner. I explained it was the grass, looked at him right in the eyes and offered to show him. I didn’t feel threatened and when I looked into his eyes I could see he wasn’t evil or anything. He looked and continued staring me back and then gracefully said, “I’m sorry sir, have a great day”. You have to be at a very high vibration to have that kind of experience.
Then there is Maui Steve. After that first encounter, I was at the bus stop when a man approached me and asked if I had any change. I really only had enough change for my bus fare and he was incredibly graceful asking me where I was from and just sharing some casual conversation. Again, when I looked into his eyes I could tell this guy was alright. I reached in my pocket and gave him the last $5 I had. We chatted for a second and went our separate ways.
When I reflected on this I realized this was not just two random encounters. I was full of light after my weekend and I pulled these two in to share my light with them. The irony is that they were also angels who had something to give me. Signs and angels come in many forms. They don’t always have profound messages or wings. Sometimes they need something from you. Think about that the next time a homeless person asks you for a dollar. Put your ego aside and look into their eyes.
